Last year everyone and their momma chimed in on the Meek Mill vs. Drake beef, since then Drake went on to crush the rest of 2015, while his counterpart, well…he almost went Dave Chappelle in 2005 on us. However, now that we have left the beef in 2015, we now await the release of his Dreamchasers 4 mixtape. While we wait in anticipation, Meek drops a surprise 4-song EP today on SoundCloud.
Check out the four new songs below. Peep Meek’s freestyle over Drake and Future‘s What a Time to be Alive standout track, “I’m The Plug.”
Be on the lookout for DC4…coming sooner than later.
The evolution of Rick Ross has been a certified tutorial for those wanting a Boss status. Rozay has shown us this year exactly how to be the “Biggest Bawse” and to finish the year out he gifts us his 8th LP, Black Market. This project by Ross has the potential to be the record of the year. It features some of the best at what they do. On this album Ross get the assist by artists like John Legend, CeeLo Green, Nas, Chris Brown, Mariah Carey, Future, and Mary J. Blige. If those few names alone don’t spark an interest in listening to the album below, you might want to check your pulse.
Black Market further proves the fact that Renzel is in a lane all by himself, but don’t take my word for it. Stream the new album below. You can also purchase the album here.
Lately Maybach Music Group has seemed almost unstable and loyalty is becoming more of an issue, but one thing is for sure, Rick Ross is setting the bar in Hip Hop right now. Since the release of his Black Dollar mixtape, Rozay has been on a ridiculous run. In preparation of his forthcoming album, Black Market, Ross has been seen at multiple shows, all over media, and remixing everything under the sun. Just this week alone he released the music video for “Bill Gates” while also remixing Future’s hit “Stalk It.”
Today, Rick Ross digs deep and adds a verse to Adele’s comeback smash hit “Hello.” Rozay is really making a lane of his own with this remix. Check out his latest remix below.
Finally, after what seemed to be the longest 5 days in Hip Hop, Meek Mill delivers his diss track in response to Drake. Tonight via Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex, the MMG general premiered his Drake diss after long await. The new Meek track is produced by Jahlil Beats and Swizz Beatz.
After this beef has stewed for a while it looks like Meek has finally got himself in the booth, but is this enough to get him out the hole he has already dug for himself? Take a listen to the new diss track below and let us know what you think. “Pump It or Dump It?”
Drake is bringing it to “Back to Back” on Meek Mill with his latest diss track. The “Back to Back” freestyle is a problem and Hip Hop listeners are now waiting in great anticipation for Meek to bring the solution. By now, everyone is in the loop on this Hip Hop beef, but here is a quick run down.
*Last week, Meek accused Drake of having a ghost writer.
Over the weekend, Drake responded by dropping “Charged Up” diss.
Meek called the diss, “Baby lotion soft.”
Monday, Meek was scheduled to drop a diss track via Hot 97, but he never did.
The Pinkprint Tour hit Toronto, Meek hit the stage with the words “F*ck You” on the screen behind him.
Today, Drake unleashes “Back to Back” diss.
*This actually did not happen first, but only Drake and Meek know what actually started the rift between these two emcees.
Today, Drake looked for the “checkmate” move as he dropped his new diss track, which you can hear below.
Apparently shortly after the “Back to Back” diss was released someone started a gofundme.com account to help Meek Mill record his Drake diss track. That’s how important it is for Meek to respond at this point.
There is even a newly developed website, SaveMeekMill.com, which is set up to help build Meek’s brand by collecting donations to buy school supplies for the youth in Meek’s hometown of Philadelphia. However, don’t let the positive mission statement fool you. The website states, “We strive to inspire the youth into different career paths other than being the type of rapper Meek Mill once glorified. We will save the youth from any future embarrassment caused at the hands of their rap adversaries when they find themselves in a beef — inspired by the one Meek Mill is currently losing to Drake. How? By inspiring them to not be like Meek Mill at all.”
The ball is in your court Meek. You’re down in points, but it’s your possession. So what are you going to do? The clock is ticking…
Meek Mill is back at it with yet another banger. The MMG emcee looks like he is attempting to make good for making Hip Hop miss him during his time in incarceration. His latest effort, “Check,” is a Metro Boomin and Southside-produced record that puts him one step closer to this year’s throne. However only time will tell if Meek can make this his summer and take that seat.
Listen to Meek Mill’s new heater, “Check,” below and be sure to let us know what you think. Share your comments below or check us out on Facebook and/or Twitter.
Will Meek regain his stride in the race to the top?
March 31st marks the upcoming album release date for MMG rapper Wale. The highly anticipated 4th album from Wale is ironically titled, The Album About Nothing. Today the DMV native has released the second single from that album, “The Matrimony,” featuring Usher. The track is a self-reflection piece that deals heavily with young love.
Wale and Usher built a great collaboration with this single, but that’s just my opinion, check the track out for yourself below. “The Matrimony” single can also be purchased on iTunes with a very special message from Jerry Seinfeld.
Last year Meek Mill landed himself in prison during a pivotal time in his career. At the time of his incarceration, Meek had a huge buzz and a highly anticipated album scheduled to release. Since then, the Philly native’s buzz has simmered down a bit and we still have yet to hear his Dreams Worth More Than Money album. However, Meek refuses to make this year anything less than spectacular.
So far this year Meek has released two hot freestyles and today he drops the video to “B-Boy” which features Big Sean and ASAP Ferg. The collaboration is most definitely dope, with all three artists carrying their own over the fiery beat. Let’s hope that Meek can find his way back to the forefront of Hip Hop and that this is a sign of what is to come.
Is this his first official step towards that? Watch Meek Mill’s new video “B-Boy” featuring Big Sean and ASAP Ferg below and let us know what you think.
