A concert featuring Pittsburgh emcee Mac Miller was scheduled to take place Halloween night, however an apparent overdose on September 7 took his life way too soon. On Wednesday night, a version of that show went on in Los Angeles without him, in his honor.
During the one-night-show, titled Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life, artists such as Travis Scott, SZA, Chance the Rapper, and John Mayer showed out for the late-rapper, with the evening’s proceeds going toward a charity formed in Miller’s name, Mac Miller Circles Fund.
Long story short: The music industry’s finest played Miller’s songs and songs about him. There was no focus on drugs or his famous ex. And…Mac Miller was the final performer…yes…Mac Miller.
Wednesday night’s show ended with a final spotlight shone on a lone mic stand, just before the dimming of the stage lights.
Check out the ending below to last night’s tribute to Malcolm McCormick aka Mac Miller.
Even Miller’s ex-girlfriend, Ariana Grande, paid a touching tribute to Miller last night on Instagram, as she appears be wearing his hoodie while cuddling his dog.

Hip Hop has recently been mourning the death of legendary emcee Sean Price. Sean was a successful solo artist, but he was more commonly known as a key member of the Boot Camp Click and 1/2 of the critically acclaimed group Heltah Skeltah. In light of Sean’s passing, Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller dug deep in his crates and released a new song with the late emcee titled “Pet Sounds.” Mac did not give too much information out about the track, however, he did tweet out a link where fans can donate money to help and support Price’s family.
With the lack of information we have on this song, we are not really sure when the track was actually recorded, but we do have “Pet Sounds” below for your listening pleasures. Sean is survived by his wife, and his three children. Donations can be made to Sean’s family here.
