It’s no secret that there is some bad blood between rappers Lil Wayne and Young Thug. It’s also no secret that they share a similar sound. But when it was made known that the Free Weezy Album and Slime Season would drop on the same day, the line between Weezy and Thugger was further blurred.
Well, the 4th of July came and the dueling debut never happened. Young Thug’s mixtape was repeatedly pushed back with no confirmed reason. Since then we have been hearing leaks and snippets of new music by Thug, but given no information on where this music was going.
Today we finally give listeners further evidence for the Young Thug/Lil Wayne comparison controversy, with the release of Young Thug’s Slime Season mixtape. Check it out for yourself below and let us know if you will “Pump It or Dump It”?
***Peep the first track with special guest…Lil Wayne.***
The wait is finally over! Lil Wayne releases his highly anticipated album just in time to get the holiday started off proper. The back and forth between Weezy and Cash Money has culminated in a surprise release of his Free Weezy Album on TIDAL. Less than a month ago Wayne announced that he had signed a deal with Jay-Z. Well, that deal was actually a negotiation that made Wayne the newest co-owner of TIDAL
Today via TIDAL you can now stream the 15-track album that features Jeezy, Cory Gunz, Wiz Khalifa, Junior Reid, and more. For those who have been on the fence about joining the TIDAL wave, today is the perfect time for you to take advantage of the free trial. So far we have only had the opportunity to hear “Glory,” which I believe was Weezy setting the bar for this album. It can only get better from there, so listen to FWA and be sure to give us your feedback.
Before you get your fireworks popping tonight, get your party jumping now with Wayne’s Free WeezyAlbum.
French Montana’s Mac and Cheese 4 has been on ice for quite some time now, however we have recently been shown signs that French’s sophomore album may be on deck. Today the Coke Boys captain drops a new single titled “Lose It”. The track is produced by Kanye West and The Mekaniks, and it features guest appearances by Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. At this point we are not really sure when this track was recorded because Wayne drops the line “Cash Money till I die,” which we all know is a throwback statement. Regardless of that flashback, the track is fire and the beat is smoking.
Check out the new one by French Montana below…and oh yeah, #FreeRozay.
As we continue to patiently wait for Weezy’s album to release we have seen a lot unfold between Wayne and Birdman. Oh and we can’t forget the supporting actors like Young Thug during this Hip Hop drama. Since the debacle of Cash Money, there has been lawsuits, copycat albums, and even a shot up tour bus. When will it all stop? When will we finally get to hear Wayne’s new album that has since been retitled, Freezy Weezy???
Well, last night Lil Wayne took the stage at the Bay Area’s KMEL Summer Jam and announced, “I just signed a deal with my motherf**king idol, Jay Z”. The audience went crazy, but it left me and other Hip Hop heads with even more questions. Like, could he be referring to Jay Z‘s streaming service TIDAL, or did he actually sign with Roc Nation? All of these are valid questions, especially with Wayne still being singed to Cash Money. I guess only time will tell.
Check out the snippet of Lil Wayne making his announcement below.
UPDATE: Lil Wayne wasn’t referring to his signing on the dotted line with Jay Z regarding a record deal, but rather a deal with TIDAL that he signed earlier this month, making him the newest co-owner of the recently relaunched streaming service.
Mr. We The Best is back! DJ Khaled delivers a new banger featuring vocals by Chris Brown, with Lil Wayne and Big Sean dropping dope verses on the new Lee On The Beats-produced track. The track is titled “How Many Times” and is the lead single from Khaled’s forthcoming album I Changed A Lot, which is scheduled for release later on this year.
The new track is an aggressive one with each artist asking “How many times I got to tell that p*ssy to come over?” This song is direct and to the point, and may just be the track that sets the tone for this upcoming summer. You be the judge. “How Many Times” will you press play?

Amidst all of his Cash Money drama Lil Wayne has still found the time to keep putting music on the streets and in your speakers. This time Weezy teams up with R&B crooner August Alsina for the official remix of “Kissin On My Tattoos”. This track is Alsina’s first release of the year.
Valentines day may have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean that the romance has to go too. Take some time to sit with your boo thang and listen to the remix above.
For weeks now Lil Wayne has been apologizing for the delay of his Tha Carter V album. Tonight the YMCMB capo takes his apologies even further by dropping his Sorry 4 The Wait2 mixtape. Weezy fans were very hopeful that Wayne would release this mixtape to hold them over until his new album surfaces, and he did just that. Mixtape Weezy is back and he is back with a vengeance.
Sorry 4 The Wait 2 features brand new Weezy freestyles over some of 2014’s biggest bangers. Finally Wayne can stop apologizing for the wait, because he’s just dropped this year’s hottest mixtape to date. However, don’t take my word for it. Stream Sorry 4 The Wait 2 below and let us know what you think by commenting below.
Lil Wayne is known for his crazy work ethic and because of that he can typically be heard all over the radio, but lately Lil Wayne has been pretty quiet. It is clearly evident that Weezy’s current struggles with Birdman and Cash Money Records have been a huge distraction for him, leaving Hip Hop listeners with no new Lil Wayne music. Well folks, Weezy is back to making some noise as he drops a remix to Future’s 2013 banger, “Sh!t.”
Fans are hoping that this track is the green light to Wayne’s second installment of Sorry 4 Tha Wait. He released the first installment of Sorry 4 Tha Wait as fans grew impatient waiting for his last album, Tha Carter 4, to drop. Once again Wayne finds his fans at the edges of their seats in anticipation of his delayed Tha Carter V album. With that being said, Wayne releasing a follow up to Sorry 4 Tha Wait seems appropriate.
Listen To Weezy destroy this Mike Will Made It instrumental while you keep an ear to the street, because this track may just be the beginning to something special. Check out the latest by Lil Wayne below and let us know what you think.
