Pennsylvania rapper Chris DeVille is a quiet storm bound to blow. With his clever bars and consistent flow this remarkable emcee is definitely industry ready. Rapping is an art form and DeVille paints pictures with his dynamic word play. The 56 and Runnin’ Entertainment emcee makes use of every word as he delivers real rap with his grounded approach.

Chris DeVille grew up in the economically depressed city of Johnstown, Pennsylvania where nothing came easy. Growing up a fatherless child, he would have to become the man his father couldn’t be at an extremely young age.

In 2004, DeVille enlisted in the United States Army. With his tough upbringing, serving in South Korea and Iraq didn’t faze him, but it certainly left its impact. After leaving the Army, DeVille knew it was time to take control of his own destiny. Encouraged by his peers he started flirting with hip-hop and soon fell in love.
Chris DeVille hit the Pennsylvania hip hop scene hard. With hits like “PFOM” and “Who I Am” DeVille gained an immediate audience. Now “Johnstown’s Own” is shadowing his earlier successes with the release of his upcoming album Allow Me To Introduce Myself. The 6 track EP will feature DeVille at his best as he presents to listeners the sound that the game has been missing. Watch the album trailer below.

The Allow Me To Introduce Myself album drops this summer and includes such songs as “Intimate Truth” featuring R&B vocalist Emanny and “Dream Outrageous” featuring Royal Dutchie. The “Dream Outrageous” track will serve as the lead single for the album, the official video was released last week. With this track DeVille reminds his audience to never let regrets take the place of your dreams. The inspirational track is a feel good song, released just in time to be this summer’s anthem. Check out the new video below and be sure to share your thoughts.

Up next for Mr. DeVille comes his anticipated second single “Intimate Truth” featuring New York R&B singer Emanny. Emanny has appeared on songs with rap kingpins Jadakiss, Styles P, and Joe Budden. He has also worked with R&B legends Patti Labelle, Gerald Levert, Ginuwine, and Carl Thomas. One of Emanny’s biggest songs to date is his 2012 hit titled “I Messed Up” featuring Slaughterhouse rep Joe Budden.

The “Intimate Truth” single will reveal another side of Chris DeVille as he showcases his versatility on the intimate track. “People want the truth from you, but will lie to themselves,” says DeVille as he explained to me the origins of this song.

The “Intimate Truth” single is scheduled to release June 10th, so be on the look out. Also keep an eye out for DeVille’s Allow Me To Introduce Myself EP dropping this summer.

[Hot New Video!] Chris DeVille w/ Wes Penn & Kim King – “Save Me”

“Johnstown’s Own” Chris DeVille is back on the scene with a powerful visual that captures the epidemic that many of America’s communities are facing. As the war on drugs continues in our neighborhoods, the Pennsylvania emcee sheds light on the issue and once again proves that he is more than music.

“Somewhere there’s a mother that wishes she had done more,” said DeVille. “Somewhere there’s a person who is controlled by a disease and just wants their life back. I want this song to be a comforting touch on the shoulder of a grieving mother, or reflection from a mirror that provides the strength for someone to get their life back.”

The new track by DeVille is titled “Save Me” and features fellow Pennsylvania emcee Wes Penn and R&B songstress Kim King.  The gripping visual was shot by Jason Inde and is sure to gain the attention of many.  It is still unclear if the new single will appear on Chris DeVille’s upcoming project, but be on the lookout for his EP, Still A Dreamer, scheduled to drop this summer.

[Hip Hop News Now] ‎DJ Afterthought Presents: “King of the Burgh 5”

KOTB5 2

Western Pennsylvania has been on Hip Hop’s radar ever since Wiz Khalifa put on for his city. The city of Pittsburgh is home to some of the most talented emcees you will ever come across.  The city’s underground movement is where you can discover the genre’s next ‘big thing’. To showcase this talent, ‎DJ Afterthought presents “King Of The Burgh 5.”  This event will give 19 emcees an opportunity to perform and make their claim for the crown. The winner of the competition will be taking a seat at the city’s throne and also be awarded over $5k in cash and prizes. Pittsburgh’s DJ Afterthought is delivering what may be one of the city’s biggest events this summer.

“It’s a platform for artists to go on and showcase their stuff in front of actual fans,” said DJ Afterthought. “I encourage every entity of Hip Hop music to come out and network and meet people. It’s really an opportunity for everyone and anybody.” Afterthought also mentioned how the prizes can truly help the artist. Studio time with ID Labs, promotion, merchandise, and much more are all bundled into the prize. “It gives me satisfaction to see good people get an opportunity,” said Afterthought.

Pittsburgh Emcee Cory Eaux is excited about the upcoming the event. He is one of the 19 rappers who will be hitting the stage on September 5th. “I love performing. I usually don’t enter too many competitions, but I feel that this one will be beneficial for me. There’s actually fans at these shows. Usually at showcases you end up just rapping for a bunch of rappers, but with this one you are going to have at least a couple hundred people there. So there’s actually an opportunity to gain some fans,” said Cory Eaux. “Winning would be nice, but that’s not why I’m doing it. I’m doing it because this is an opportunity to get in front of a receptive crowd, a crowd that is there to hear some real Hip Hop.”

Also gracing the stage will be western Pennsylvania emcee Chris DeVille. “For me, it is an opportunity to showcase my talents in front of a demographic that’s not familiar with my music,” said DeVille. “I’m excited and looking forward to the show. I plan on bringing a lot of energy. I also want to show my versatility when it comes to my music.”

DeVille’s goal is simple. “I want the crown, and the title ‘King Of The Burgh,’ but I’m also looking forward to the opportunity the show itself presents. Whether it be new collabs  new fans, etc.,” said Chris DeVille. It’s going to be an epic night, I think everybody should want to be a part of it. This night could be the reason a star is born.”

King Of The Burgh 5″ will be going down Saturday, September 5th at the Rex Theater in Pittsburgh. Doors open at 8 pm and you can catch performances by Cory Eaux, Chris DeVille, Army Strong Music, District 9, Vorpy D, OSFM LOLO, Pure Fuckery, Matty C, Ramaj Oei, Seymour Banks, Shul Z, Grady Gill, Padgelek Productions, Gwappo, GP is Going Places, Aaron Romeo, Mike Tomlin, Born Ready, Billy Wolfe, and H & T.
