[Hot New Music!] Gillie Da Kid feat. Boosie Badazz – “I’m Da Man”

imdaman

Philadelphia rapper Gillie Da Kid is back with a certified banger titled “Im Da Man” featuring Baton Rouge native Boosie Badazz. The self-proclaimed “King of Philly” hops on the Coney Gurl produced beat and slays it. Late last year, Gillie released his first ever album entitled, Welcome 2 Gilladelphia. Now the “King of Philly” is back to follow up that album with some heat for these winter days.

There is surely more to come from Gillie as the buzz surrounding him gets louder with each day that passes. More singles, probably a new mixtape, and possibly a new album. We can’t say what is to come for sure, but we will take what we can get. Check out the new one from Gillie Da Kid featuring Boosie Badazz below.

[Hip Hop News Now] The Introduction of Pennsylvania Emcee J-Remedy

Screen Shot 2016-02-11 at 6.59.23 PM

Brooklyn born emcee J-Remedy has found his strength through his struggles and is now using that same strength to make power moves. With that being said, J-Remedy has a story to tell. As a youth, J along with his sibling, was taken into custody by the state of New York and placed in an orphanage. From there, the siblings relocated to Pennsylvania with their maternal grandmother in hopes of gaining some stability and ultimately a better life.

Unfortunately for J-Remedy things did not get any easier for him as the troubled teen served several years in a youth institution and later state penitentiaries. After his release, J found solace in rapping. However, it wasn’t until he found himself as a single father of three that he took rapping seriously. “My children became my motivation to succeed,” said J-Remedy. “You hear that from a lot of people and it’s real cliché, but that’s totally the truth of my situation. I do this because I want to give them a better life, and hustling aint it.”

With a new focus created just three short years ago, J-Remedy has already opened up for multiple Hip Hop acts such as Cassidy and Fred The Godson. This weekend J is set to open up for Slaughterhouse emcee Joe Budden. The event is presented by his YNR team, Elegant Hoodness, and Cashout Casper. Details to the show can be found below on the event flyer.

Recently J-Remedy was awarded the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program Award for Entrepreneur of the Year. He was nominated with candidates from all across the country. “This meant a lot to me. That’s like a super dope award, because entrepreneur to me is hustling, working hard, grinding and that’s what I’ve been doing for these last three years. So to win that award and be acknowledged for it, when a lot of people can’t really see the work that I’m putting in. Ya know, that’s really a dope feeling,” said J.

“For the last three years the struggles that I had to endure to get this award is crazy,” said J-Remedy, “I was sleeping in my car for about three months, I was homeless. My kids had to go stay with my family and I had to sleep in the streets in my car with no money. Somehow I had to find a way to continue to chase this dream and build my brand. It was honestly stupid the way I went about it, but it was because I believed in myself and I knew that if I could invest this money and time in myself that it was going to turn out good. And that’s what it has been doing lately, which is the craziest part of it all.”

J-Remedy’s musical sound described by him is, “Raw, gritty, and very east coast.” “I was influenced by a lot of east coast Hip Hop, that’s what I love. Cassidy, The Lox, Big Pun, Biggie…east coast rap is what I thrived off and listen to the most,” said J.

Check out some of J-Remedy’s most recent singles, “Drill Time Remix” and “Just A Moment,” below. Keep one eye open and an ear to the streets and I’m sure you will hear J-Remedy’s name again. Be on the lookout for his feature in XXL later this month. “The goal is simple,” said J-Remedy, “It’s to keep grinding.”

While event goers were pleased with all of the great acts, they patiently waited for Jordan York to hit the stage. As the event approached it’s climax, York was escorted to the stage by two women donning bikinis. The crowd then went crazy and the bar was set from there.

Screen Shot 2016-01-24 at 9.54.21 PM

Those in attendance that night saw York for the true entertainer he is, as he proved that he was more than just an emcee. His 30-minute set included some freestyles and songs like “Stay True” and “Can You Hear Me.” York also performed his brand new song “Kurt Angle.” “It’s a night to celebrate,” said York, “I wanted to give everyone a good night and I wanted to do something classy.” “It’s definitely Hip Hop, but at the same time I like to keep it classy and provide everyone that comes out a good time and make them feel like they are a part of something, because they are,” said York.

Screen Shot 2016-01-24 at 9.43.39 PM

“I just let loose on stage and I just want to leave people with an impression that they got their money’s worth and why they should come out and see me again,” said Jordan York. “I rap about real life stuff and I’m just a normal guy chasing my dreams. I don’t want to be recognized for the flashy jewels or the clothes I wear, I want to be recognized for grinding hard and achieving my dreams,” said York.

There is no in team, but there is a me. With that being said, Compton emcee The Game is taking some time out to focus on him because he realizes that without him, there is no team. Sometimes we just have to look out for number one and there is nothing wrong with that. “Ride Solo” gives Game a moment to clear his mind and get some things off of his chest. No shade involved.

The new track can be found on the new deluxe version of The Documentary 2, available now as a three-disc collector’s item with three additional new bonus tracks: the Trey Songz-collabo “Do It To You,” the Skrillex-produced “El Chapo,” and “The Soundtrack” featuring Meek Mill.

[Hip Hop News Now] Kanye West Remix Leaked, “Black Skinhead” feat. Miley Cyrus, Travi$ Scott, and Lupe Fiasco

Screen-Shot-2016-01-21-at-11.06.30-AM

Kanye West’s last album, Yeezus, dropped nearly 3 years ago. Since then, we have watched the “Jack-of-all-trades” artist reach for the higher levels of Yeezus. With the release of his next album, Swish, approaching us it’s no surprise that we find Yeezy in the midst of some news. Ye’s “Black Skinhead” track of 2013, was the lead single for his Yeezus album. A remix to the Daft Punk and Mike Dean-produced hit was teased, but never released.

This morning someone dug deep in the internet and as a result…we have Kanye’s “Black Skinhead” remix featuring none other than Miley Cyrus, along with Travis Scott, and Lupe Fiasco. This is definitely not an official release for the remix and we are still unclear on what Lupe’s contributions are to the song, but at this point…does it really matter?

Do yourself a favor and listen to the leaked remix here.
