Finally, after what seemed to be the longest 5 days in Hip Hop, Meek Mill delivers his diss track in response to Drake. Tonight via Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex, the MMG general premiered his Drake diss after long await. The new Meek track is produced by Jahlil Beats and Swizz Beatz.
After this beef has stewed for a while it looks like Meek has finally got himself in the booth, but is this enough to get him out the hole he has already dug for himself? Take a listen to the new diss track below and let us know what you think. “Pump It or Dump It?”
Drake is bringing it to “Back to Back” on Meek Mill with his latest diss track. The “Back to Back” freestyle is a problem and Hip Hop listeners are now waiting in great anticipation for Meek to bring the solution. By now, everyone is in the loop on this Hip Hop beef, but here is a quick run down.
*Last week, Meek accused Drake of having a ghost writer.
Over the weekend, Drake responded by dropping “Charged Up” diss.
Meek called the diss, “Baby lotion soft.”
Monday, Meek was scheduled to drop a diss track via Hot 97, but he never did.
The Pinkprint Tour hit Toronto, Meek hit the stage with the words “F*ck You” on the screen behind him.
Today, Drake unleashes “Back to Back” diss.
*This actually did not happen first, but only Drake and Meek know what actually started the rift between these two emcees.
Today, Drake looked for the “checkmate” move as he dropped his new diss track, which you can hear below.
Apparently shortly after the “Back to Back” diss was released someone started a gofundme.com account to help Meek Mill record his Drake diss track. That’s how important it is for Meek to respond at this point.
There is even a newly developed website, SaveMeekMill.com, which is set up to help build Meek’s brand by collecting donations to buy school supplies for the youth in Meek’s hometown of Philadelphia. However, don’t let the positive mission statement fool you. The website states, “We strive to inspire the youth into different career paths other than being the type of rapper Meek Mill once glorified. We will save the youth from any future embarrassment caused at the hands of their rap adversaries when they find themselves in a beef — inspired by the one Meek Mill is currently losing to Drake. How? By inspiring them to not be like Meek Mill at all.”
The ball is in your court Meek. You’re down in points, but it’s your possession. So what are you going to do? The clock is ticking…
Hip Hop fans have recently found themselves in the middle of a Hip Hop soap opera featuring Philly rapper Meek Mill and Toronto emcee Drake. With all of the ups & downs between the two lyricist Meek has still found the time to drop a visual to his latest album’s second single, “All Eyes On You.” The track features Meek’s girlfriend Nicki Minaj and R & B bad boy Chris Brown.
“All Eyes On You” is Meek’s biggest hit to date as it is the highest charting single of his solo career. It is currently sitting at #28 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and has shown no signs of losing any momentum. This Benny Boom directed visual will definitely add to the song’s successful run. Check out Meek and Nicki getting extra close in “All Eyes On You” below.
You would of have to been under a rock this last week if you haven’t heard about the Meek Mill and Drake beef. Well this weekend we finally got some music out of this Hip Hop soap opera. Drake responded to Meek’s accusations of him utilizing a ghostwriter with a diss track titled “Charged Up” that he premiered Saturday on his Beats 1’s show OVO Sound Radio.
The track certainly throws jabs at those who have been active in this stand-off, however Meek thought that the diss track was soft as he turned to social media to tweet, “Baby lotion soft.” Check out the diss track below and let us know what you think.
Drake’s latest OVO Sound Radio episode also featured two more new joints: “Right Hand” and “You Used To,” which is a remix of the D.R.A.M. single “Cha Cha” featuring Drake.
Just two days after releasing a remix to her “No Sleep” single, Janet Jackson drops a video for the track. The visual features J. Cole and is directed by Dave Myers. Ms. Jackson (because I’m nasty) can be seen in the video in straight chill mode, reminiscing of a past love while mother nature plays the background. J. Cole does his part by putting on for Janet, spitting those cupid-like bars. The two play off each other very well as old-school meets new-school.
“I hope u enjoy watching this as much as we enjoyed making it,” Jackson says as the caption displayed on the video’s YouTube page.
“No Sleep” will be featured on Janet Jackson’s upcoming album this fall. The album will be Janet’s 11th LP. Her first release since 2008′s Discipline.
A recent bankruptcy filing by 50 Cent has sparked a whirlwind of hysteria in the entertainment industry and all who follow it. Now the self-proclaimed “King of New York” was quoted saying, “I take all of the jewelry and cars back to the stores.” Whoa!? A lot of onlookers had originally thought that Fif’s bankruptcy was a ploy to protect his assets from the $5 million he was ordered to pay in the case between him and Lastonia Leviston, the mother of Rick Ross‘ daughter. This case stemmed from a sex-tape of Leviston and a former boyfriend that 50 used in a parody to throw jabs at Rick Ross.
Now things are even taking a sharper turn as Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent testified in a Manhattan courtroom yesterday that his jewelry and cars are all for show. Huh? Fif who was listed by Forbes Magazine as one of the top five richest Hip Hop artists with a net worth of $155 million is now saying that his lifestyle is only a mirage. During the hearing Jackson’s lawyer declares that his client is only worth $4.4 million dollars, which triggered his recent chapter 11 filing. When the Judge asked 50 about selling 38 million records, 50 replied, “I only make 10 cents a record.”
Either Fif is a better act than we ever knew or this is just another example of how treacherous this Hip Hop game can be. What do you think? Is 50 Cent deserving of an Oscar for his portrayal of a broke emcee or is he just another victim of the entertainment industry? On the brink of releasing his new album, Dirty Sprite 2, Future has the album’s “Where Ya At” track premiered by Beats Radio personality Zane Lowe. The song features Drake and is the lone song to actually host a feature. Earlier today on The Breakfast Club, Future spoke on the origins of this track and how the collaboration came about. Evidently, just before he was expected to submit the finished album, Drake called him up and voiced his interest in being a part of Dirty Sprite 2, and according to Future, he sent “Where Ya At” to Drake, and he quickly returned it with his verse that very same night.
Dirty Sprite 2 is a follow up to Future’s Dirty Sprite mixtape. The new album pays homage to Future’s earlier days and fans get to listen to Future return to his roots. Dirty Sprite 2 drops tomorrow, but you can listen to the new track today. Check out Future’s “Where Ya At” featuring Drake below.
