Last weekend, Drake revealed his plans to release his fourth LP, Views From the 6, in April. Drake also blessed us with a new track, “Summer Sixteen,” in which he continues to walk all over Meek Mill and fire some warning shots at Toronto R&B artist Tory Lanez. The verdict still isn’t in yet on whether or not the Noah “40” Shebib and Boi-1da-produced cut will make the highly anticipated album, but what we do know is this single is the highest debut of Drake’s career.
The new track is already one of the biggest hits of Drake’s career and his highest debut since 2011’s “Take Care” duet with Rihanna. Stream “Summer Sixteen” below and keep one eye open for the premiere of Drake & Rihanna’s “Work” video.
There’s no question that Memphis emcee Yo Gotti found himself with a jewel and one of the biggest rap hits of 2015. “Down in the DM” placed the underrated rapper in a new lane and has fans in anticipation of his new The Art of Hustle album, due to release on February 19th. While we wait on the album, Gotti has gifted us a remix to his banger featuring Hip Hop queenpin Nicki Minaj.
The duo goes in as expected and of course Nicki hits us with the jaw dropper Miley Cyrus reference. Be on the lookout for an official video to the track. For now, check out the new remix below.
Last year Jadakiss dropped his first studio album in 6 years. Top 5 Dead or Alive proved that The Lox emcee still has dope bars and is truly a timeless entertainer. A month into the new year, the Yonkers, New York rapper has already shown that he has no plans of pumping his brakes. Most recently Kiss and his So Raspy protégé, Nino Man, dropped off some sweet bars on Jeremih’s “Oui” single.
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner you may want to add this one to your playlist. Check it out below.
A beef has been cooking for the last couple of days that has culminated with the incarcerated Harlem rapper Max B throwing shade at Kanye. Yesterday, Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa attempted to break the internet when the two went back and forth on Twitter. The riff started when Kanye announced his new album will be renamed Waves (formerly Swish, previously titled So Help Me God). Once the announcement came out, Hip Hop heads, including Wiz, went into a frenzy.
Since the spill over on Twitter, the currently incarcerated Max B, who is serving a 75 year sentence, took it upon himself to reach out to Kanye. He did this the only way he knew how to…on wax.
Be on the lookout for Max B’s “Waves” documentary to drop the same day as Kanye’s album. Peep the trailer below.
Over the weekend, Pittsburgh’s Jordan York hosted a celebration for his recent success. The “Key To The City” event was presented by Nightfall Records and All In Events. It was held at The Boiler Room in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was attended by a few hundred people. Those who were in attendance were treated to opening performances by Space Gang, Ace Money, Maddox of Anger Management, TK Kavi, Town Zero, Aaron Romeo, and Easily Distracted, while Chaotic Style held down the 1’s and 2’s.
While event goers were pleased with all of the great acts, they patiently waited for Jordan York to hit the stage. As the event approached it’s climax, York was escorted to the stage by two women donning bikinis. The crowd then went crazy and the bar was set from there.
Those in attendance that night saw York for the true entertainer he is, as he proved that he was more than just an emcee. His 30-minute set included some freestyles and songs like “Stay True” and “Can You Hear Me.” York also performed his brand new song “Kurt Angle.” “It’s a night to celebrate,” said York, “I wanted to give everyone a good night and I wanted to do something classy.” “It’s definitely Hip Hop, but at the same time I like to keep it classy and provide everyone that comes out a good time and make them feel like they are a part of something, because they are,” said York.
“I just let loose on stage and I just want to leave people with an impression that they got their money’s worth and why they should come out and see me again,” said Jordan York. “I rap about real life stuff and I’m just a normal guy chasing my dreams. I don’t want to be recognized for the flashy jewels or the clothes I wear, I want to be recognized for grinding hard and achieving my dreams,” said York.
The “Key To The City” event was lit and the folks that made it out on that snowy night would definitely agree. The good news is that you don’t have to take my word for it. Check out the highlights of Jordan York’s performance below and be sure to leave a comment.
Keep an eye out for Jordan, this young man has a talent that will surely be noticed. Press Play Now.
There is no I in team, but there is a me. With that being said, Compton emcee The Game is taking some time out to focus on him because he realizes that without him, there is no team. Sometimes we just have to look out for number one and there is nothing wrong with that. “Ride Solo” gives Game a moment to clear his mind and get some things off of his chest. No shade involved.
The new track can be found on the new deluxe version of The Documentary 2, available now as a three-disc collector’s item with three additional new bonus tracks: the Trey Songz-collabo “Do It To You,” the Skrillex-produced “El Chapo,” and “The Soundtrack” featuring Meek Mill.
With Wiz Khalifa’s self titled album set to drop any day now, he releases the highly anticipated “Bake Sale” cut. Wiz gets the assist from Travi$ Scott on the track, which features production from Juicy J, TM88, Lex Luger, Crazy Mike, and DJ Spinz. With “Bake Sale” Khalifa encourages all to come out and get that oven fresh good good. “I got flowers, wax, inhalers, edibles – all shit you never saw,” states Wiz with open arms.
Check out the latest by Wiz and friends below and be on the lookout for Khalifa. The new album includes appearances by Rico Love; fellow Taylor Gang members Ty Dolla $ign, Chevy Woods, Courtney Noelle and Juicy J. Fans will also hear from Khalifa’s 3-year old son Sebastian on the 13-track project.
Kanye West’s last album, Yeezus, dropped nearly 3 years ago. Since then, we have watched the “Jack-of-all-trades” artist reach for the higher levels of Yeezus. With the release of his next album, Swish, approaching us it’s no surprise that we find Yeezy in the midst of some news. Ye’s “Black Skinhead” track of 2013, was the lead single for his Yeezus album. A remix to the Daft Punk and Mike Dean-produced hit was teased, but never released.
This morning someone dug deep in the internet and as a result…we have Kanye’s “Black Skinhead” remix featuring none other than Miley Cyrus, along with Travis Scott, and Lupe Fiasco. This is definitely not an official release for the remix and we are still unclear on what Lupe’s contributions are to the song, but at this point…does it really matter?
Do yourself a favor and listen to the leaked remix here.
A few weeks into the new year and it looks like some people are willing to leave a few things in 2015. Now we can officially add the beef between Wayne and Birdman to that list. Last night at LIV nightclub in Miami, apparently Lil Wayne and Birdman put an end to their beef. In the video below you can hear Birdman attest to his love for Wayne saying,
This my motherf*cking son, and I’mma die for him, I’mma live for him, and I’mma motherf*cking kill for him. That ain’t gonna never change, n*gga. It’s YMCMB for life.”
Of course we all know that the beef between these two got very serious and heated at times. We also can’t forget that lawsuits were filed and bullets were fired. So…can Weezy and Birdman honestly move forward and forget the events that took place last year? Does this mean that Wayne will finally drop Tha Carter V? I guess time will only tell…so stay connected with us as this story is sure to develop soon.
