It’s the weekend, so that means there had to be a FREESTYLE FRIDAY somewhere. DJ Clue never lets us down and this past Friday he nabbed Brooklyn emcee Fabolous to turn out an oldie but goodie. The New York rapper grabs the instrumental to Mobb Deep’s epic 1999 hit record “Quiet Storm” and puts his own spin on it.

In a recent article, 56 & Runnin’ Ent. artist Chris DeVille sat down with The Roundtable Empire to discuss his new mixtape, Don’t Worry I’ll Wait. Today listeners can Stream & Download his highly anticipated mixtape for free. Don’t Worry I’ll Wait is hosted by Pittsburgh’s DJ Afterthought and features Royal Dutchie, Lady Homi, Jay Lamont, and R&B singer Emanny. Emanny may sound familiar to you as he has found mainstream success on tracks with rappers Joe Budden and Jadakiss. He has also worked with many R&B artists like Patti LaBelle, Ginuwine, Miguel, and Trey Songz to name a few. You can find Emanny on Chris DeVille’s hit single “Intimate Truth”.
Don’t Worry I’ll Wait is a spot-on road map through Hip Hop. It hints at where Hip Hop has been and it also reflects the current state of Hip Hop. More importantly, it guides listeners to where Hip Hop is going, but don’t take my word for it. Stream & Download Chris DeVille’s latest project below and be sure to let us know what you think by commenting below.
The timing couldn’t have been any better for the release of Zeke Thomas’ new track titled “Blackness”. The much needed track dropped via Tommy Boy Entertainment, which is home to not only Zeke, but to other artists like Ghostface Killah and Jamar Rogers. The “Blackness” track is a humble dedication to civil rights and the fight for equality. The single also gets a very special feature by Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Pittsburgh emcee and community activist Jasiri X.
An official video is set to drop later this month for “Blackness”. Until then, stream the song below and as always, let us know what you think.
We still may be a little confused on whether Drake’s latest project is actually an album or a mixtape, but in either case his unexpected release debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late did better than any other release this year, aside from Taylor Swift’s 1989.
According to Billboard, the OVO delegate sold 495,000 copies during the first week. It was a slight disappointment because of its predicted 500,000 sales target, but at the end of the day it was a huge win for Drizzy.
Many people believed that Drake would have released this project for free, however, with it going retail it may have been a ploy by Drake to speed up his departure time from Cash Money Records. Drake is still diligently hard at work on his album, Views From The 6, which will be out later this year, and will reportedly be the final release needed to meet his 5 album deal with Birdman and Cash Money Records.
Stay tuned to the drama known as Cash Money Records by staying connected with The Roundtable Empire. #TakeASeatAtTheTable
In the meanwhile, listen to Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late below for free. Yeah I said it…Free! #WhereRoyaltyMeetsLoyalty
Amidst all of his Cash Money drama Lil Wayne has still found the time to keep putting music on the streets and in your speakers. This time Weezy teams up with R&B crooner August Alsina for the official remix of “Kissin On My Tattoos”. This track is Alsina’s first release of the year.
Valentines day may have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean that the romance has to go too. Take some time to sit with your boo thang and listen to the remix above.
G.O.O.D. Music artist Big Sean has paid his dues and now he is demanding the respect of Hip Hop listeners. His bars are evolving and he is dropping hit after hit, with his most recent banger “IDFWU” officially going platinum this week. In this same week Big Sean dropped what some people are calling “the verse of the year” with his feature on Meek Mill’s “B-Boy” and he also revealed the title of his third studio album Dark Sky Paradise, which will be released on February 24th.
What else can I say other than the boy is on fire right now? And to add fire to his flame, Big Sean releases yet another certified banger. His latest track, “Blessings”, features YMCMB’s Drake and Big Sean’s mentor Kanye West…need I say more?
It’s cold out there people, so be sure to warm up with this heater by Big Sean. Listen to “Blessings” featuring Drizzy Drake and Yeezus below.
Just when you thought you might have been done talking about Kanye (at least for a few days) he drops another hot single. This time around he play’s co-star to Rihanna and gets another assist from the legendary Paul McCartney. The track is actually a new Rihanna song, but it will appear on both Roc Nation artists’ albums.
This is a true indication that Yeezy could be dropping his highly anticipated album sometime real soon. Either way, fans have been gifted some great music in the past month. Like “Only One,” this single has that acoustic feel to it as Kanye and Rihanna lend their vocals to the song. It is definitely not a club hit, but a hit nonetheless. With news that Paul McCartney is co-producing Kanye’s entire album, expect to hear much more great music from the new acoustic duo.
Listen to Rihanna’s “FourFiveSeconds” featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney below.
For weeks now Lil Wayne has been apologizing for the delay of his Tha Carter V album. Tonight the YMCMB capo takes his apologies even further by dropping his Sorry 4 The Wait2 mixtape. Weezy fans were very hopeful that Wayne would release this mixtape to hold them over until his new album surfaces, and he did just that. Mixtape Weezy is back and he is back with a vengeance.
Sorry 4 The Wait 2 features brand new Weezy freestyles over some of 2014’s biggest bangers. Finally Wayne can stop apologizing for the wait, because he’s just dropped this year’s hottest mixtape to date. However, don’t take my word for it. Stream Sorry 4 The Wait 2 below and let us know what you think by commenting below.
Lil Wayne is known for his crazy work ethic and because of that he can typically be heard all over the radio, but lately Lil Wayne has been pretty quiet. It is clearly evident that Weezy’s current struggles with Birdman and Cash Money Records have been a huge distraction for him, leaving Hip Hop listeners with no new Lil Wayne music. Well folks, Weezy is back to making some noise as he drops a remix to Future’s 2013 banger, “Sh!t.”
Fans are hoping that this track is the green light to Wayne’s second installment of Sorry 4 Tha Wait. He released the first installment of Sorry 4 Tha Wait as fans grew impatient waiting for his last album, Tha Carter 4, to drop. Once again Wayne finds his fans at the edges of their seats in anticipation of his delayed Tha Carter V album. With that being said, Wayne releasing a follow up to Sorry 4 Tha Wait seems appropriate.
Listen To Weezy destroy this Mike Will Made It instrumental while you keep an ear to the street, because this track may just be the beginning to something special. Check out the latest by Lil Wayne below and let us know what you think.
