It’s been two years since Drake has dropped a formal album, but today that has all changed. Right now you can stream Drake’s new album Views aka the album formerly known as Views From The 6 onApple Music or by clicking here. Check out the tracklist below to help you along the way.
The tracklist does not mention any features, however Drizzy revealed on his Instagram that Future, Rihanna, Pimp C, PARTYNEXTDOOR, DVSN, WizKid and Popcaan are featured on the album. With that being said, it looks like the Jay Z and Kanye version of “Pop Style” did not make the final cut.
Ariana Grande is no stranger to working with some of Hip Hop’s finest, so it’s no real surprise that her new album features some of the hottest in the game right now. However, what is a surprise is that her new single features Mr. Young Money himself, Lil Wayne.

Pittsburgh’s hip hop scene is not much different than those of other major cities, however, what makes the Steel City’s scene stand apart from the next is clearly it’s talent. Earlier in the month I attended a Hip Hop event in Pittsburgh called “Battle For The Buck” and while all the competitors were great, one particular emcee really grabbed my attention. The young man’s name is Slick Guruzee and even though he did not win the overall event, he was the true winner in my eyes.
Slick Guruzee hit the stage for his set and totally controlled the crowd. His set was lit and he had total crowd participation. It was great to see this youth look like a true vet on the stage. To top it all, he will be attending West Virginia University in the fall, where I am sure he will be making quite a name for himself. I decided to catch up with Slick Guruzee after the event and we had a great conversation.
The Pittsburgh native is a high school senior that first began freestyling at the age of 8. He started out at such a young age because of his father’s involvement in Hip Hop. Slick’s father is the vice president of raphead.com and works to promote Hip Hop talent across the globe. “I just wanted to be like him in some sort of way,” said Slick Guruzee. “He’s Big Slick and they called me Lil Slick. I just flipped it on them and became Slick Guruzee. The root word of Guruzee is “Guru” which is like a master, teacher, or prohet. Guruzee is not a gang in any way, it’s a lifestyle.”
When I asked Slick about his rapping style he said, “I consider myself very diverse and I like to speak to everybody. I never really want to limit myself.” “One of my top musical influences is Tupac and its only because I look at Tupac as not only a rapper but a teacher. I watched his speeches on youtube and I knew that his mother was a part of the Black Panther community. So I just always wanted to affect people the same way he did,” said Slick Guruzee.
Currently Slick is staying busy putting the final touches on his debut mixtape entitled Who Is Slick Guruzee, so be on the lookout for that.
In the meanwhile you can watch some of his recently released videos. Check out his videos for “Run it Up” and “White Iverson” below. The “White Iverson” remix features another Pittsburgh emcee by the name of Young Bagz. Peep the videos and be sure to comment below.
Just when we thought the Golden State Warriors were the greatest team assembled, Uncle Murda puts together his own triangle offense for the official remix to his “Right Now” track. The remix features Hip Hop heavyweights Future, Fabolous, and Jadakiss.
The rap pack delivers as expected over the Metro Boomin production. Each emcee provides dope bars that will leave you in withdrawal.
The “Right Now” remix is filled with punchlines and plugs, so just be prepared before you hit play below. There’s a real good chance that you will be coming back for more.
While Lil Wayne has been out in the field promoting his new joint project with 2 Chainz, he still finds the time to film a video for the track “Cross Me” off his last mixtape No Ceilings 2. The track features two Hip Hop Heavyweights, Future and Yo Gotti. Future crushes the chorus while Weezy and Gotti exchange bars about disloyal people.
Unfortunately Future is missing from the video, but Yo Gotti, who hasn’t let his foot off the gas since the clocks struck 2016, joins Wayne for the “Cross Me” visual. Check it out below.
Still riding the Royalty wave, Chris Brown delivers yet another remix to his bedroom mannered hit “Back To Sleep.” For this sexy encounter he brings out August Alsina, Trey Songz, and Miguel. Each singer drops in and gets right to business.
Back in February Breezy released the Usher and Zayn featured remix, which would make his second remix of”Back To Sleep.” But don’t be surprise if Brown drops a third remix. Rumors have already spread about a third remix featuring Bryson Tiller, Tyrese, and Tank.
Check out Chris Brown’s “Back To Sleep” remix remix below.
Drake’s Views From The 6 is set to drop this month, so with that being said, it appears that Drizzy season is finally upon us. Today Drake officially kicked off the highly anticipated season with the release of two brand new singles. The first track is titled “Pop Style” and features Jay Z and Kanye West aka ‘The Throne’ and the other features WizKid and Kyla called “One Dance.”
The songs aren’t streaming just yet on Apple Music, but you can preview “Pop Style” here, and “One Dance” here.
Earlier this week the Hip Hop community took a huge loss with the passing of legendary Queens emcee Phife Dawg. Phife, a founding member of the super group A Tribe Called Quest, passed away due to complications stemming from his diabetes. The entire Hip Hop community came together to mourn it’s loss once the news got out about Phife’s passing. Several artists decided to embrace the loss and take those feelings out in the studio, paying tribute to the gone-too-soon emcee.
One artist in particular was Pittsburgh’s Wiz Khalifa. Wiz, who can probably partially credit his laid back flow to Phife, has recently released a remix of A Tribe Called Quest’s classic, “Electric Relaxation.” Listen to the Steel City native’s version of the Hip Hop classic cut below. Also take note that Wiz is actually the second Pittsburgh emcee this week to pay tribute to Phife. Former label mate and frequent collaborator Mac Miller dropped a Larry Fisherman tribute the very same day of Phife’s passing. You can also vibe to the Mac Miller tribute further below.
Wu Tang affiliate Andre Roxx has filed a lawsuit against all news outlets that had falsely reported that he had cut his own penis off and attempted suicide. In 2014 a reporting error was made and Marques Johnson aka Andre Roxx suffered as a result. His name and image was tarnished as reports spread that he had castrated himself and attempted suicide. Roxx’ identity was mistaken and actually confused with another Wu Tang affiliate by the name of Christ Bearer, legal name “Andre Johnson.”
News outlets from TMZ to USA Today falsely reported the story and used Andre Roxx name and image. This all occurred while Andre Roxx was serving time behind bars and had no way to clear his name. The Roundtable Empire caught up with Roxx today to speak about the importance of his current lawsuit. “I have spent the better part of my life building a reputation as an artist. It is not perfect but everything it holds good and bad I had earned, until this story broke. I have no problems paying for my own sins but the sins of others is too heavy a weight. I want the name I earned back, nothing more, nothing less,” said Andre Roxx.
Stay tuned to The Roundtable Empire for further developments of this story…
